URBACT Summer University (USU) is conceived as a unique learning experience, primarily aimed at strengthening individual skills and capacities to develop participative and integrated action-planning in urban policies.
Dublin has a reputation as being one of the world’s most welcoming cities. So, we are delighted that the city will host the second URBACT Summer University.
Here you will find all you need to know about the upcoming URBACT Summer University taking place in Dublin, Ireland, from Wednesday 28 August to Saturday 31 August 2013. Together with urban practitioners, policy-makers, representatives of NGOs, civil society and the private sector from across the EU, we will experience a combination of training, learning practical exercises and networking.
Building on the success of our inaugural URBACT Summer University in Krakow in 2011, URBACT is organising its 2nd Summer University dedicated to URBACT Local Support Group members from all ongoing URBACT networks. The event will take place in Dublin, Ireland, from Wednesday 28 August to Saturday 31 August 2013.
URBACT Summer University propose to its participants four study visits to conclude the Dublin experience: Meeting House Square, Dublin Bike to Work Scheme, Dublin Food Cooperative, and Northside Partnership.
In the official agenda of the URBACT Summer University 2013 (USU2013), there are included a few number of plenary sessions, as the programme in this year is focused on interactive learning activities.
Labs and ULSG@work sessions are the foundation of the URBACT Summer University. Participants will sign up for one of the eight policy challenges proposed, depending on their professional background and needs, as well as on the issue addressed in the Local Action Plan they are working on as partner of an URBACT network.
The unique location of the URBACT Summer University, taking place in the Trinity College of Dublin, certainly is a very good reason to participate.
URBACT Summer University will be a great opportunity to attend masterclasses and talks presented by inspiring masters. Relevant case studies, successful experiences and insights will be shared. Urban issues will be addressed in order to offer a broad, innovative and multiple point of view.
